Miriam and Ruth at the Pomeroy Campsite, making their first brew of the day.

Laura and Theo having a quick bite to eat before the start of the ride. (Saturday)

Almost ready, John Kemp joins us at the start of the first day's ride to Middleton Top.

A rather overcast day at Parsley Hay, our first refreshment stop of the day.

Almost halfway to Middleton Top now, as we rest beside Aleck Low.

The nostalgic sight of a steam traction engine pulling a living van near Longcliffe.

Middleton Top, our lunch destination.

Did they, or didn't they? On our way from Brassington to Tissington.

It was Well Dressing Day at Tissington, where we stopped for ice cream and >>>>>>>>>>>>

spent a good half hour looking at the various stalls in the village street, before joining the Tissington Trail for our return journey to Parsley Hay.

Ruth and Theo having a well deserved rest at Parsley Hay, before our return to Pomeroy Campsite, and a barbecue put on by Tony and Wendy a couple we had met yesterday. I think that they felt sorry for us in our bedraggled state, whilst putting the tents up on Friday!

Dave Howgate rode over from Sheffield to join us for today's ride (Sunday), to Peak Forest.

A brief respite on the moors above Chelmorton.

The long steep ascent at Backwell Mill on way to Wormhill.

A picnic lunch beside the village hall at Wormhill.

Here in Monksdale, Dave gave us a very informative chat about the flora of the area, before he left us to ride back to Sheffield.

Pitching the tents at Peak Forest.

It's Monday now and we're just starting the descent of the track from Rushop Edge.

Here we are enjoying another picnic lunch in Roych Clough.

I had picked up this hitch hiker somewhere along the way, but it being quite camera shy, decided to hop off at this point.

Oops! Almost made it to the summit of South Head Hill.

Tuesday morning at Hayfield campsite, and about to break camp, with Laura looking rather cold.

John Kemp had rode over to join us for the day from Glossop, and guide us to Crowden for our overnight stay.

The campsite at Crowden as we set up camp.

It's Wednesday now and we're climbing the hill over to Brushes Valley, thence to our lunch stop at Uppermill.

We arrive at Rakewood, beside Hollingworth Lake for our overnight stop, following a quite hard day's ride.

Thursday now, and we have reached the summit of the morning's ride on the hills overlooking the village of Summit, where we stopped for lunch.

Wild camping now on Scout Moor, with the wind farm in the background.

Friday, after leaving the Pennine Bridleway we had a twelve mile ride home, Laura appears pleased to be back.
